Our 9th Annual HOPE 5K is Just a Few Days Away!
Thank you for registering for our annual fun run/walk in support of older teens and young adults fighting cancer! Your contributions to this event go directly and entirely towards the mission of Dan’s House of Hope in providing home-away-from home accommodations, psycho-social programming, and nourishing hope through community for this vastly underserved demographic.
Joining us in Houston for the In-Person 5K Meet-Up?
– Meet us this Saturday, October 19th at Dan’s House of Hope, located in the Museum District near the corner of Almeda and Binz St. at 4917 Jackson St., HTX, 77004
– Arrive between 9:00am – 9:30am this Saturday to check in, scoop your 2024 5K shirt, grab some “before” pics or Honoree Placard pics, and explore the route suggestions so you can make the selection that’s best for you!
– At 9:30am we’ll briefly gather at the front of The House for announcements and instructions. Immediately following, we’ll all be sent off to complete the 5K at our desired pace and selected route!
– All route suggestions will circle you back to finish at Dan’s House of Hope, right where you started! Please be sure to join us upon completion of your 5K for some social and recovery time, as well as delicious lite bites provided by Chef’s Korner; outdoor games; and refreshing beverages.
NOTE: Ample and free street parking is available in the blocks surrounding DHOH, and metered parking is available in the lots connected to Centennial Park/Hermann Park. Please adhere to all city parking and safety regulations.
NOTE: We will be meeting rain or shine, so please be sure to monitor the crazy Houston weather and dress appropriately.
Opting for the Remote Route?
– This year’s shirts have been mailed out to our remote participants – if you haven’t yet received yours, please let us know ASAP! OR, if you have recruited additional team members that are still in need of shirts, please reach out to us immediately and we will do our best to expedite shipping. Contact Erin@DansHouseofHope.org.
– Head to our registration page or Facebook event “9th Annual Hope 5K” to access and print off a copy of the Honoree Placard to use in your “before” or “after” photo!
– Complete a 5K at any pace, any location, and at any time of your convenience between Friday, October 18th and Sunday, October 20th.
– Send us before and/or after pics sporting your DHOH 5K shirts to be included in our prize drawings! Feel free to include proof of your final distance and time if you’re shooting for a PR or bragging rights!
Regardless of Your Pace, You Can Still Be a 2024 HOPE 5K Winner!!
Don’t forget to print and pose with our Honoree Placard or email us your fave before/after 5K pics, as all qualified submissions will be entered into our drawings for Amazon gift cards! Simply tag Dan’s House of Hope on IG and/or Facebook, or email them to Erin@DansHouseofHope.org. Both group and/or individual photos will be accepted as long as all names of the pictured participants are apparent and be sure all pictured participants are sporting their DHOH Hope 5K shirt (2024 and previous years allowed). By submitting photos, you grant permission to Dan’s House of Hope and its employees to use those photos in development and marketing purposes, whether digitally or printed, for the benefit of the organization’s mission, unless explicit request to the contrary is received by the remote 5K start date of 10/18/2024. All photo submissions must be received by 10am CST on Monday, 10/21/2024 to qualify for entrance into the drawings.
