Isolation is one of the most significant obstacles young adult patients (and caregivers) face beyond the physical and financial burdens of cancer. Adjustment to new normals in energy levels, functional ability, and the rhythm of daily life compound feelings of disconnect from family, friends, and life as it was before diagnosis.

Connecting with others who understand helps!  Our programs are open to young adult cancer fighters/survivors, age 18-39 years of age, and their caregivers and promote the well-being of mind, body, and spirit. (We even have a few options in Houston for adolescents 15-17 years old.) Virtual Program Offerings

Caregiver Coffee – Treat yourself! Join us for an online sip and chat morning coffee break for caregivers.  Enjoy the welcoming support of other AYA caregivers in conversation and camaraderie.

Creative Corner Arts & Crafts Time – We love crafting for many reasons:  self-expression, learning new skills and techniques, creative problem solving, confidence building, and the inherent sense of accomplishment in making a unique handmade work of art from simple materials, are to name but a few.  Crating is a healthy, satisfying activity on so many levels.  Come exercise your creative side with us!

Game Night – We’ve taken this long time, laughter-inducing, fun-filled evening of entertainment in DHOH’s activity line-up virtual!  Join us for a lighthearted evening of fun and games virtually from anywhere via Zoom.  Laughter really is some of the best medicine, and this is a perfect opportunity to help share it with others in the YA/Caregiver community.

Yoga Wednesdays – AYAs and Caregivers, grab your mats and join us weekly from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. for a refreshing opportunity to de-stress, restore, renew, and reconnect!
