Founders Note|

Covid has created the need for considerable creative thinking over the past several years.  The need for social distancing put severe limits on our in-person programs in 2020 and 2021.  While we look forward to integrating in-person activities back into the line-up in 2022, we are mindful that pivoting our programming for patients and caregivers from in-person to virtual events has been remarkably positive with growth of participation in all activities.

A few short years ago, connecting as DHOH guests or living in Houston created more limited opportunities for YAs to meet up, share friendships, and be involved in all that is/was the local YA Cancer Community.  The acceptance and availability of virtual programming has extended our reach further, easing isolation for many in outlying areas where finding programs that focus on the needs of YAs is less common.   It’s terrific to see DHOH’s impact extend from “sea to shining sea” and beyond.

Check out the Our Programs tab and the Upcoming Events for more information on all that is available.  We hope to see you soon!
