It’s time to pause and hit refresh in your schedule. Zoom-in to join DHOH’s monthly Meditation Break with Keeley Micheal, yoga teacher and therapist, at 7:30 p.m. (CST) on the last Thursday of every month.
What is meditation?
Meditation is an experience; it’s the ability to maintain focus for an extended period of time. It doesn’t (as commonly mistaken) require “no thought.” Our current world is full of distraction, which makes it hard to focus and find stillness. This meditation class will help you find the path into deep stillness. As a result, you’ll be able to clear negative emotions, hear your true voice, and find clarity– all which can improve concentration, decrease depression and anxiety, and increase sleep.
What should I expect?
Each class will be 45 minutes and will include: a short discussion, gentle movement, breath work, and guided meditation. The gentle movement and breath work are used to prepare the mind for the goal of meditation. The discussion will be used to learn: how meditation works, how to approach meditation as a practice so you can achieve deep focus, and how to choose the focus of meditative practice to facilitate your unique healing. This class is appropriate for all levels of practice (including no experience).
