We love crafting for many reasons: self-expression, learning new skills and techniques, creative problem solving, confidence building, and the inherent sense of accomplishment in making a unique handmade work of art from simple materials, are to name but a few. Crafting is a healthy, satisfying activity on so many levels.

Did you know that exercising your creativity through art and crafts increases your body’s dopamine levels, which influence new neurons– promoting enhanced concentration levels and productivity?  Think of ACT (Arts & Craft Time) as a welcome antidote to the many varied stresses and pressures of life today!

Each monthly ACT session is a 90-minute commitment to multi-media exploration and fun. Most projects are introduced and completed in a single workshop session.  Occasionally, projects may require a bit more out-of-session work time to finish.  YA cancer fighters, survivors, thrivers (18 – 39 years old), and their caregivers are all welcome to join.

Additional Details:

Arts & Craft Time Workshops are on the 1st Thursday of each month.

No participation fees.

Session space is limited, and pre-registration is required.

Supply your own materials OR request a monthly project kit when you register.

Waitlist Policy:

We are excited about the growth of DHOH’s Creative Corner!  With growth comes a few challenges. To help ensure that workshop resources and availability are accessible to as many participants as possible, we are making adjustments.  In short, we are asking for everyone’s cooperation and consideration in providing a timely cancellation notice if you are unable to attend a session for which you have registered.

The Waitlist Policy applies only if someone reserves a workshop space at registration but does not attend the session (a “no show”) or cancels their registration after the supply kit mailing deadline.

Life happens.  We understand that situations change, that interest and/or availability may shift between your registration date and the workshop’s date.

Timely cancellation helps us manage space and resources for other potential participants.  To ensure that we can continue to offer the option of cost-free supply kits and so that we can utilize a session’s full capacity without unnecessarily turning away potential participants, we are adopting the Waitlist Policy.

Waitlisting places a registration in a “pending” status until the close of general registration.  If space remains available, a waitlisted registrant will then be admitted to the session, receive a registration confirmation letter with a session link,  and, if applicable, a supply kit will be mailed.  (Alternately, if the workshop has reached maximum capacity during the general registration period, a notice stating so will be sent.)

We hope the Waitlist Policy assists all interested in joining DHOH’s Creative Corner Workshops with better access and opportunity to join us in exercising their creative side.
