September’s ACT:  Tissue Paper Painting

You’ll be painting like a pro with this fun watercolor technique!  Keep it simple, or dust-off your stencils and stamps to add extra multi-media, layered aspects.  From exquisite handmade cards to frameable wall art, your creative genius will flow with possibilities for using this versatile craft process.

We love crafting for many reasons: self-expression, learning new skills and techniques, creative problem solving, confidence building, and the inherent sense of accomplishment in making a unique handmade work of art from simple materials, are to name but a few.  Crafting is a healthy, satisfying activity on so many levels.

Did you know that exercising your creativity through art and crafts increases your body’s dopamine levels, which influence new neurons– promoting enhanced concentration levels and productivity?  Think of ACT (Arts & Craft Time) as a welcome antidote to the many varied stresses and pressures of modern living–especially in 2020.  Come and exercise your creative side with us!

Each ACT session is a 90-minute commitment to multi-media exploration and fun.  Most projects are introduced and completed in a single monthly workshop session.  A few projects require more– a commitment to 2 or 3 sessions plus extra work time within a month to complete a project.  YA cancer fighters, survivors, thrivers (18 – 39 years old) and their caregivers are all welcome to join.  Workshop sessions are limited to 15 virtual participants.
